Cupping Therapy

Cupping therapy uses cups made of glass, silicone, or bamboo placed on the skin to create suction. This suction stimulates local blood circulation, relieves muscle contractions, and promotes the release of toxins. It is very popular for back, lower back, and neck pain. A session lasts between 30 and 60 minutes. It may leave temporary circular marks (3–7 days).

Frequently asked questions
Are the purple marks normal?
Yes. The circular marks are temporary (usually 3 to 7 days) and result from the suction that stimulates circulation. They are not bruises from an impact and typically do not hurt.
Does cupping therapy hurt?
Usually not. The sensation is one of suction and pressure. If the technique includes gliding the cups, there may be mild discomfort. Let your therapist know your limit.
